Reading S.T.E.M.

We are a community based organization committed to improving reading and math literacy for children in grades K-5 using extended learning systems in schools and outdoor STEM activities within community gardens. 

Since 2022, we have been bridging learning gaps by providing extended day STEM programming in Harlem in support of NYC’s Summer Rising initiative. 

The Artsy Athenaeum envisions a future where every child has access to engaging, hands-on educational experiences that unlock their full potential in literacy, STEM, creativity, and civic leadership. Through the integration of arts, community engagement, and experiential learning, we aspire to cultivate a generation of confident learners, critical thinkers, and innovators who are empowered to strengthen their communities and succeed in an ever-changing world. As we expand our reach beyond New York City and throughout the United States, we seek to create equitable educational opportunities that inspire lifelong learning, academic excellence, and meaningful community impact.
